Bala
directs a film only when he is ready for
it and not based on peer pressure. His films
are a lesson in understanding a subject
to such a detail, that all his characters
in the film have a definitive role and seldom
leave our minds long after. Naan Kadavul,
his forthcoming venture that comes almost
three years after his last film, Pithamagan,
might have been embroiled in controversy,
but for this thinker, nothing is ever a
major setback. First it was Ajith, and people
thought the film would definitely be a winner
yet again. Then he was replaced by a novice,
Arya, and expectations are on the rise again.
For a director who is known to give his
actors such powerful roles and bring the
best out of them, a unique opportunity for
Arya indeed, and one we hope, is another
masterpiece from the director. Bala was
an associate of veteran director Balumahendra.
It was under him Bala learnt the techniques
of filmmaking. |
