Vintage K. Balachander, only that
the current generation doesn’t
seem to have much of a taste for it.
Another film that was lying in the
cans for a long time for lack of distributors
and by the time it had got to theaters
all the expectations had fizzled out.
Screen
Talk:
The promos of the film said, ‘new wine in
old bottle’. It looks more like ‘old
wine in a very old bottle’. Things appear
hardly refreshing. It is all the same style that
has been seen with KB over decades. This is the
age of new themes and different approaches to
film making. Sadly, the legend that KB is, fails
to live up to the expectations of the younger
generation.
Trade Talk:
The movie should have come out much earlier. Things
should not have been so jaded. All in all, an
effort that must have been aimed at the movie
goers, especially the younger generation. What
worked once, need not always work. Poor response.
