Considered senior to all the present
top heroines, Trisha too, took the
path of modeling to enter films. Though
Lesa Lesa was her first film, it was
Ameer’s Mounam pesiyadhe with
Surya which hit the screen first.
Slowly but steadily, her career was
shaping up with Enakku 20, Unakku
18, Lesa Lesa etc. When her first
venture in Gilli with Vijay became
a super hit, the industry stamped
this pair as a lucky one.
It
was in Sami with Vikram that the foundation for
a strong career was laid for Trisha. The success
of Gilli transported her to Telugu films where
she has carved a niche for herself. She is a popular
face in Telugu Desam where she is featured with
almost all the top heroes of the field. It is
reported that she currently charges anywhere from
45-60 lakhs per film there. Kollywood producers
are contended giving her 40 lakhs a movie.
She has not had any great successes to show since
Gilli in 2004. However her popularity remains
enviable. An off colour 2005; Thiruppachi, Ji
and Aaru. Unflattering 2006 with below par performance
in Aadhi and an average performance in Unakkum
Enakkum may have given her a few concerns. But
upcoming projects like Bheema with Vikram under
Lingusamy and Kreedom with Ajith offer lots of
hope. An actress who is yet to try her hand at
anything outside regular commercial fare.
