Vijay - Gilli:
Okkadu created waves in Telugu industry and its remake in Tamil, Gilli was even better. Mahesh Babu’s dance and fight sequences were resembled in Gilli but Vijay’s charisma drove the fans crazy. With songs being the backbone and screenplay the life of both the movies, both Vijay and Mahesh Babu moved into the top slot in their industry. Prakash Raj played a prominent role as a villain in both versions of the movie. Trisha was the ladylove for Vijay in Gilli. Director Dharani achieved his hat-trick success with Gilli after his triumph with Vikram in Dhil and Dhool. Gilli was released in 2004 while its predecessor Okkadu was released in 2003.
