Evergreen hit movies in other languages had been remade in Tamil since the times of M.G.R. and Shivaji Ganesan. But it was Rajinikanth who acted in a lot of remade movies, particulary those of Amithabh Bhachan, and walked away with laurels in his own style. After him, Vijay and Jeyam Ravi had locked horns for remake movies.
