of
her house as well as keep away from her sister’s
husband, who makes advances towards her.
Arun Kumar is not interested in marriage and
the movie goes to flash back. Arun Kumar and
Umasankari (Meera Jasmine) studied in the same
college and always involved in quarrel with
each other. ( Watch out ). How Uma who is tortured
by her brother –in – law enters
into Arun’s family and gives a big helping
hand is the crux of the story. One should watch
out how Arun and Uma loves each other and is
willing to get married. In the meantime, Arun
Kumar’s father attempts because he is
deeply in debt. Umashankari steps in and helps
Arun who is preparing for I.A.S exams. She does
everything to ensure that he become an IAS officer.
He is turn, promises to marry her and rescue
her from her situation. However Uma in an encounter
with his brother-inj –law , lands in prison,
and how the couple finally unites is brought
out in an impressive climax – typical
of the direction’s touch.
It’s Meera Jasmine’s show all the
way. Be it the bubbly college girl, a responsible
daughter or a caring lover, the actress has
given a memorable performance. She won several
awards for the original version, and one wouldn’t
be surprised if she picks up one for this film
as well.
The supporting cast, comprising the villainous
brother- in law played by Shammy, his loud and
uncouth mother, Vinodhini as Meera’s sister,
Sarath Babu as Arun’s father, have been
aptly cast by the director .holidays should
be lauded for coming out with a brilliant movie
sans the usual masala and other commercial fillers.writer
jay Mohan’s dialogues and Ilayaraja’s
music are excellent. On the whole a must –watch
film for the entire family.
An excellent performance by Meera Jasmine
and she has once again proved that she could
fetch name by her acting and not exposing her
skin. Meera will make a round in Tamil cinema
for her performance in this movie. Nothing special
to say about Prassana’s performance but
he has done his work properly with much of ease.
As usual, Ilayaraja has scored up pleasant
tunes and nothing special from the technical
side. The whole credit goes to the director
Lohidas for his excellent scripting and screenplay.
Really, he has proved that he is unique among
the directors of the industry. The added beauty
to the movie is dialogue, which are penned by
Jaya Mohan.
The movie will attract only certain segment
of audience!
