The
biggest hit of the year 1990 was Pulan visaranai.
Vijayakanth was the hero and R.K. Selvamani
was the director. The story was loosely
based on the life of the notorious don,
Auto Sankar who was involved in extortion,
trafficking in human organs etc. Auto Sankar
was shot dead by the police in an encounter.
This film proved to be a milestone for the
hero, villain and director. |

It established Vijayakanth as the preferred
star for playing the role of the investigative
cop while Sarath kumar got the new persona
of the suave but menacing villain. R.K.
Selvamani acquired the distinction of being
a director with promise especially for writing
taut screenplays. Now, he has decided to
do a sequel to the film. Prashanth will
play the lead and the new film is also set
in Mumbai as the original. Needless to say,
we are excited. |
