Reactions to Surya's latest film Aaru
are mixed. Fans who are used to seeing
Surya in a decent or serious roles are
appalled by the dialogue Surya mouths
in Aaru. Playing the hatchet man to a
dada, Surya speaks the slang that Chennai
dadas speak. It's typical formula film
with blood and gore but Surya has carried
his role off with aplomb.
In
fact, it is the dialogue that brings a
distinct character to that role. For people
who have seen the film with a open mindset,
it has been an amusing film, the language
reminding them of creative elements even
in a gutter dialect. The collections at
the box-office has been reasonably good
and it will be wrong to write this off
as a flop. Never mind Surya!
