Everyone in the film industry has been wondering why Vijay dropped Puli, to be directed by S.J.Surya. It must be remembered that it was with S.J.Surya’s Kushi that Vijay made a comeback in his career after a small lump. Rumors in Kollywood attribute it to Simbu.

Everyone knows that Simbu is S J Surya’s best friend and also a confidant. He also participates in story discussions of Surya’s movies.

When Surya was discussing Puli, Simbu was there too. Simbu liked a particular idea and asked Surya if he could use it for his Vallavan. In a gesture of friendship, Surya said ok. It seems when Vijay came to know of this, he was incensed. How can a Vijay formula be passed on to Simbu? He thought enough was enough and got out of Puli.
