Vikram,
Surya, Kamal, Rajini: Common Thought |

There is a very interesting common thought
prevailing among the Tamil heroes. Make
a single movie, get double profit. Vikram,
Surya, Simbu, Kamalhassan, not to mention
the Superstar all know that they have
a maket in Andhra too. Chandramukhi, Anniyan,
Ghajini and too an extent Manmadhan have
all tasted roaring success in Telugu.
This has made these heroes think of Andhra
market too when they make films. They
therefore are asking the directors to
evolve stories with both the areas in
mind.

Even
the heroines and support actors are selected
accordingly. This has put the directors
in a quandary. Not all movies or for that
matter stories, suit both the industries.
A flop in Tamil may be a big hit in Telugu
and vice versa. What the directors don’t
want is to get into no man’s land.
What if they flop in both! The heroes
are still intransigent and the directors
are treading cautiously in an experimental
mode.
