Ilaya Thalapathy memorialized his last Diwali by celebrating with his fans in partnership with Vijay TV. Today, he started his pongal fete in Nemam village which is situated near Poonamalle. He reached the place in his own car at 11.00 where he was given a red carpet welcome by his fans and the villagers. First he visited a temple, and then he had a meeting with the villagers underneath a banyan tree. The village ladies gave him the traditional sweet pongal. One of them in the village asked him to name their son and he was baptized as Saravana.

 

 

The actor then soon entered the fields and indulged himself in harvesting. When reporters asked about his feeling, he said that it was a new experience for him and he was very pleased spending the whole day in the village. The arrangements for this fest were taken care by Vijay’s fan club.

Surya on the other hand had fun in his native place near Sulur which is located in Coimbatore district. Initially, he visited the Paramasivan temple where he was honored with Parivattam. The local people informed him about his father’s frequent visits to the temple for meditation. One cute small girl asked him why he has not brought Jo along with him. Surya was left answerless. He had fun swimming in a well which is a very common thing to do in villages. Surya was really moved when the villagers told him about the poojas they had done for his sister’s marriage. Then the actor took a tractor and made few rounds around the village. This program will be telecasted in Vijay TV for Pongal special programs.
