Simbu
had earlier acted in Alai which was a remake
of a hit Telugu film. But, Alai sank without
a trace. Since then, he has been wary of
remakes. The success of Manmadhan
which had screenplay by him made him confident

K.S. Ravikumar in Saravana
which is again a remake of Patra from Telugu.
But, KSR has given suitable changes to the
script to make it appealing to the Tamil
audience. The comedy with Simbu and Jo is
worth mentioning and KSR has a penchant
for humor. Saravana is fast nearing completion
and therefore, KSR’s working style
has made him popular amongst Telugu producers.
