Cheran
is known to be a sensitive film maker. His
handling of emotional complexities of human
beings with the tenderness of hindsight
gives his films a nostalgic effect. But,
his films are definitely not tear jerkers.
His Pandavar bhoomi and Autograph are tales
of finding the balance in a world going
topsy turvy due to circumstances beyond
the control of ordinary mortals. His next
film, Thavamai
thavamirundhu, is a
story of a father and his son and the emotional

juggernaut that is characteristic of this
relationship has been portrayed well. Cheran
has taken a long time to make the movie
and he has said that it took him almost
six months to finalize the screenplay. He
took more than three months to decide on
the technical aspects. For example, he has
spent nearly Rs. 25 lakhs on bringing latest
updating technologies in filming the movie.
He has used a high definition camera in
shooting the film. Rajkiran who did wonderfully
in Pandavar Bhoomi has come up again with
a dignified performance. This underutilized
actor will surely have a good second innings
we hope. |
