Kountamani
says no to token appearances |

Once
hailed as the king of comedy in Tamil cinema,
Gowndamani faded into oblivion with the
young actors taking guard. His latest appearance
was in Manmadhan
as Silambarasan’s uncle. He was however
sore that his role had been trivialized
and greatly reduced. So, he took |
|
|
|
a
pledge that he would not
act in token appearances. Therefore, when
he was recently approached for a role in
Vijay’s
Aadhi, he is said to put down a condition
that his character should be relevant throughout
the film. He was sick of being the hero’s
sidekick. |
