Mani
Ratnam to do a modern version
of MahaBharatha
October
11, 2005
Mani
Ratnam is a celebrated
director. He is credited
with putting Tamil
cinema on par with
international standards.
His team of technicians
is superb and he is
a master at extracting
unbelievable performances
from the actors and
actresses. Although
his recent bilingual
Aytha Ezhuthu and Yuva
did not do that well,
he has been developing
the script for his next
project. Unconfirmed
sources said that he
would be directing a
Hollywood film; but
he has refused any such
project. Meanwhile,
he is planning to direct
a modern version of
Mahabharata in Hindi.
Since it would be a
costume drama, the production
budget has been pegged
very high. So, Mani
is poring over the details
so that the film turns
out to be world class.
