Ilayaraja
has had a glorious
innings in Tamil cinema.
Most of the films
which had his music
went on to become
box office hits. The
interesting aspect
about Raja’s
style is that in all
his years at the peak
he worked out of Prasad
Deluxe Recording Studio
and did not build
a studio of his own.
When
he moved out to AVM,
Deva chose to work from
Prasad. Ilayaraja also
began to ebb down a
bit. But, he again renewed
his association with
Prasad by working from
another theater beginning
with Kadhal rojave.
Deva also built a studio
of his own and preferred
to work from there.
Therefore, recently
Raja recorded a song
for a Telugu film in
the Prasad Deluxe theatre
because he is sentimentally
attached to it.
