What is it about?

Baywatch is directed by Seth Gordon, starring Dwayne Johnson, Zac Efron, Priyanka Chopra, Alexandra Daddario and David Hasselhoff. Baywatch was one of the much-awaited films in India especially for Priyanka Chopra who is making her Hollywood debut in this film. The film is about Dwayne Johnson and his team Zac, Alexandra and Cody being the lifeguards at a beach named 'Baywatch'. Priyanka Chopra's role deals with underworld drug business in the same beach, and the plot of the movie is about the protagonist fighting against the antagonist to save the trapped people and to put an end to their illegal business in Baywatch.
 

What makes up the film?
Dwayne Johnson carries the entire film on his shoulder. He has played an exceptionally mature role. Unlike his other films where he would let his muscular body talk and claim a performer, Dwayne Johnson has actually worked hard to get his emotions and acting skills rightly in Baywatch. The film has a regular template of good versus bad which takes it to its climax where Dwayne Johnson battles out his enemies.

What doesn't work?
As we said the film has an age-old template, good versus bad and there are no suspense or a thriller instances for audiences to keep them on their edge of the seat. Well, on the other hand, the comedies didn't work well. Yes, we are serious! Love? No ..No, do not expect that at all. There aren't many impressive elements other than the performances of Priyanka Chopra and Dwayne Johnson. Priyanka Chopra plays a tough kick ass role, but her screen presence is very limited which is another major setback to the film.

What worked?
Priyanka Chopra has excelled her acting skills. It is a treat to watch her play the sexy looking daring girl. From her style to her dialogues she has perfectly kept all of that in her control and had given her best to her Hollywood debut. Dwayne Johnson's acting deserves an applause, but all said and done, without a good script and screenplay all of this goes vain.

Well?
Baywatch could have been much better with such a strong casting and technical team. The movie lags big time, and the comedies are seriously a disaster which does not make the audiences laugh.
