The
founder of Eros International, Shri
Arjan Lulla, was honored with the
Dadasaheb Phalke award for globalizing
the Indian cinema. He was honored
in a grand function that was held
in Mumbai on May 4th. Arjan founded
Eros in the year 1977, when he started
the venture to export Indian films.
It was due to the efforts of Arjan
Lulla that the Indian films have
found a place in the world map.
While UK office of Eros was set
up in the year 1980s, the empire
grew steadily with the company setting
up an office in the US in 1997,
South Africa in 2000, Dubai in 2001,
Fiji in 2004, Australia in 2005.
The year 2006 was yet another landmark
for Eros International as it was
listed in AIM and LSE.
