We don’t know why Times was ready to offer such a price, but a good guess is that Akshay Kumar’s infallible status at the box office was an inspiration. Forget the latest Tashan, Akshay has hardly put a foot wrong in Bollywood for the past couple of years. There is also the quality of the music that we must consider. The rights holders would have heard the songs and must have been very impressed for them to put so much at stake.
