Namastey London is out in theaters and for the first time in 2007 the reports look good. Akshay Kumar has become the savior of the industry overnight and director Vipul Amritlal Shah has delivered his most accomplished work to date. Namastey London is everything a movie buff can ask for. It has

romance, comedy, family sentiments, excellent music, all seamlessly bound to make a complete entertainer. A hint of patriotism added to the movie has given its overseas prospects a real boost.
According to industry sources, this is Akshay Kumar's best performance of his career. He has now done almost everything that a lead actor can do in movies. He has also managed to break free of the slapstick comedy image that had been building around him last year. Katrina Kaif too has come in for appreciation. Himesh Reshamiyya's music simply rocks.
The producers and distributors seem almost nonchalantly sure of the films success. It is being considered a safe bet overseas with Britain being the hotspot. After all, part of the film was shot in London. In India too the film is sure to bring profits owing to its high entertainment value and lack of competition.
The first day of Namastey London at the box office yielded poor returns. Understandable, after all India were playing Sri Lanka in the West Indies. Not an easy one to miss.
