The man who likes to wallow in the mysteries of the 'beyond', the 'beneath', the 'bereaved' and the 'buried' is back at it. Manoj Night Shyamalan will be back shooting soon for his next movie. After the colossal failure of Lady in the water, Manoj had to do some knocking

around before he found people willing to finance him. After all, the happenings after the last release were not too memorable. Lady in the Water managed to bring back only half its production cost.
However, an undeterred Manoj is back and ready with a script. The failure has not prompted him to go for a makeover. His new film, titled The Happening is going to be another movie on some supernatural, extraterrestrial power. Knowing Manoj, he has the ability to script even lighter subjects; Stuart Little.
The Happening is set to go to floors by mid 2007 and is expected to hit theaters by early 2008. Fox studios co produces this movie with Indian production company UTV (Rang de Basanti). This is going to be a critical career move for Manoj; if this one too does not find acceptance then his genre of films will be in trouble. Meanwhile Manoj has expressed his desire to be involved with India in a bigger way; both through movies and social work.
