Milan Luthria's Hat trick and Meghna Gulzar's Just married were the releases this Friday at the box office and the luck does not seem to have changed. Hat trick, even before its release had looked very much like a movie made for the multiplex audience with a cosmopolitan

outlook. It tells the story of five people scattered over different parts of the globe and uses cricket as the connecting factor. The reviews received by hat trick have not been cold. Many are of the opinion that the first half holds up well while the second half flags a bit. All in all the verdict seems to be 'average'. The positives are Nana Patekar's and Danny Denzongpa's performance and Kunal Kapoor proving his worth. A few lighter moments, a cricketing flavor, if you like the menu, then go watch the movie.
Meanwhile Just Married seems to have got the cold shoulder. Another film that should be relying entirely on the multiplex audience to make its money, but it falls short of expectations of course, no one was expecting a classic. But a weak story combined with unimaginative scripting has pulled the film down. The reviews have not given the film many marks and it is going to be tough for this movie to make its money.
Another below par week for Bollywood at the box office. Looks like it is going to be only the big summer releases that will create ripples now.
