It started in 2000 when Big B made KBC a
roaring success. Then there was a quite
period until Shahrukh took up the KBC mantle
and started a trend of big stars descending
to the smal screen. SRK’,s KBC was
a success, though not as big as the Big
B’s.
Now, a year after SRK began his second
tryst with TV (SRK started his career on
TV) almost all the big names of Bollywood
are half into TV. Salman Khan is a confirmed
entrant with his 10 Ka Dum taking off in
style. Offering a prize money that was on
offer only once before in a hardly talked
about show hosted by Anupam Kher, 10 Ka
Dum has managed to grab the attention of
TV audiences. Salman Khan’s freestyle
anchoring is definitely the high point of
the show and he may just give SRK’
new game show Kya Aap Panchvi Pass Se Tez
Hain a run for its money.
Then there are all kinds of news about Hrithik
Roshan preparing to do a relatively small
part in a reality show. Hritik will reportedly
be a lender of moral support and motivation
for the participants of a reality shown
on NDTV.
Then as we had reported around a couple
of months back, there are also plans to
get Akshay Kumar to play the host of AXN’s
Indian version of Fear Factor. And, we have
not yet talked about Ajay Devgan being the
judge on another talent hunt and we do not
yet know who else plans to follow this headlong
rush. TV is big.
