A remake of a remake! No, this one has not
been remade from Pachchaikili Muthucharam.
However, the stories of the two movies are
remarkably similar. We are talking about this
Friday’s release The Train starring
Emraan Hashmi. One wondered before release
why the movie was titled The Train.

The title refers to the train aboard which the married
man (Emraan in Hindi, Sarath Kumar in Tamil) and the ‘other’
woman meet. The makers of The Train seem to be unaware
of the existence of a movie called Pachchaikili Muthucharam.
They have said that the movie has been inspired by the
English flick Derailed, the same source from which Goutham
Menon drew inspiration.
Well, remake or inspired, that doesn’t seem to matter
as The Train has opened to a decent response and has received
positive word of mouth. The trade is confident that The
Train will bring profits to everyone concerned.
