Everyone wants to know what Nishabd is going to look like. The fans of Amitabh Bachchan are anxious to know whether the film projects their idol in bad light. Most of them are very much concerned about the star whom they consider a father figure being seen in a skin flick.
Their concerns have been further accentuated by the fact that the movie is directed by none other than Ramgopal Verma; he has quite an image. Big B fans are already upset with RGV for making Big B play Sarkar and for casting him as Gabbar Singh in Sholay.
But everyone from the Nishabd camp is defending the movie. Amitabh Bachcan gave an interview specifically for this purpose where he clarified all rumors that the movie was based on a novel titled Lolita which had dealt with a love story between a 60 year old man and a teenage girl. Amitabh Bachchan said that the attraction in the movie was much less physical than what it was in Lolita. He also talked about how Ramgopal Verma had tried to delve into the complexities of the human mind. This seems to be an effort to clear any doubts about the movie being lewd in any way. This could have possibly kept some people away from theaters.
But frankly speaking, even Amitabh's clarification has not cleared the clouds hanging over the movie. The trailers and promos being aired are doing very little in terms of helping clear doubts. The trailers suggest at least a few sensuous moments if not more. So the question is: 'How sexual is asexual?' Amitabh is of the opinion that the movie is asexual; let's see what the people think.
