Sanjay
Dutt’s plans to contest the
forthcoming Lok Sabha elections met
a roadblock with the Supreme Court
ruling that his conviction cannot
be suspended. Sanjay Dutt made plea
to the Supreme Court to stay his conviction
in the Mumbai blast case that rocked
the nation in the year 1993.
According to Chief Justice KG Balakrishnan,
a conviction for serious offense cannot
be stayed to allow the convict to
contest the elections. |
