Being hosted by none other than Shah Rukh Khan and titled Kya Aap Panchvi Pass Se Thez Hain which literally translated is, Are you smarter than a fifth grader? this show aims at exposing the inadequacy of the adult mind in answering what is otherwise child’s play. But all this also comes with a whopping prize amount of 5 crore rupees. 5 crores for answering questions straight out of primary school text books might look like a sitting duck waiting for someone to shoo it. But try telling that to the first contestant of the show. A doctorate holder, she had to be satisfied with 2 lakhs, finding it difficult to answer questions that she had admittedly learnt (and forgotten) long back.

But those are not the only highlights of the game. There are the three lifelines as in Kaun Banega Crorepati, but here they are called by different names. One is ‘Taak-jhank’ which means cheating, copy and ‘bachaao’, which means save me. There are also added contestant humiliating features like admitting in front of camera that one doesn’t know as much as a fifth grader or having to call oneself a coward if one wants to call it quits halfway. All this added with SRK’s ready to laugh brand of wit and presence of mind have got the show off to a good start. Of course, the biggest attraction remains the prize money.
