Among
huge expectations this comedy movie with many well-known
stars released this Friday. The movie’s trailers
have caught many people unaware as even the sneak
preview was very funny, and for these reasons it is
only natural that when you set foot in the theatre
you expect a complete fun ride from start to finish.
The movie is about three flirty Bachelors Akshay kumar,
Fardeen Khan and Rithesh Deshmukh who thinks girls
are the only happiness in life. One fine morning they
find a baby in their door with a letter stating that
one of them is the father, to their dismay.
|
|
|
|
After
many funny situations they decide to abandon the child, which
in turn hurt them dearly as the baby goes to the edge of death.
The trio decide to keep the child to themselves and start
to shower the baby with all the love they can garner forgetting
all about girls and even the fact that one of them is the
father of the baby. |
|
|
A twist in the tale appears when the mother of the
baby arrives and takes the baby away from the three.
And it so happens that the real father is Akshay kumar
who has betrayed Vidya balan. Now how the trio of
fathers decides to get back their angel by hook or
by crook forms the rest of the story.
The movie’s pacing is good however one can’t
help but think that the screenplay needs some grooming.
The comical scenes are very entertaining but the movie
has too much of melodrama which ruins the show to
some extent. Lot was expected from Sajid khan the
director of the movie as he is one of the funniest
men in Bollywood and his television show on movies
is filled with fun and sarcasm.

Though
the director has made the funny parts effectively, the emotional
part goes overboard and we just frown upon them. But some
of the scenes like when Fardeen goes to Vidya balan as a
Botany professor and the scenes following are a masterstroke.
And the trio making a list of all the girls they have ever
gone out with is a riot. But dialogues like “Me bi
dhekthi hoon, Ye Kagaaz ke tookude kaise Maa ko apni beti
se alag karthe hain?” are a let down. Usually Sajid
will be the first to give a sarcastic comment on such a
dialogue, and it’s a pity that we see such cliché
scenes in his movies.

Acting
wise the movie is of top quality as Akshay kumar has
proved yet again why he is the most successful actor
in Bollywood today, he expresses comedy and emotion
with aplomb, Rithesh deshmukh is spot on with his
comical timings, Fardeen khan is good in the comical
part but still have to work on his emotions. Vidya
balan is very impressive but the actress should take
care of her physical fitness as she looks a little
over weight. Boman Irani is superb as usual. The baby
is so cute and it’s rightly called the angel.
And Anupam Kher and especially Shahrukh’s cameo
brings down the house with claps and whistles.

The
technical aspects are of high order; Cinematography by Himman
Dhamija is of superior quality. Sydney is captured so beautifully
on screen. Music by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, is very enjoyable,
'Mast Kalandar' is the pick of the album.
Overall it’s a decent movie with stroke of brilliance
(the comedy) in between but the excess melodrama ruins the
show completely. Still the comedy part is worth the money
you spend, which is enough for the movie to reach a hit status.
Verdict – a roller coaster ride sans the thrill
