The Directors’ Union in a press statement has said that it is in no way connected to the Chennai International Film Festival and their President Bharathiraja and Secretary Ameer’s names have been misused by the ICFA Advisory Committee.

Further, the Directors’ Union also condemned the CIFF organizers for banning the national award winning film Then Merkku Paruvakatru, directed by Seenu Ramaswamy and Leena Manimegalai’s Sengadal.

Apart from boycotting the CIFF, the Directors’ Union has also requested the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu J Jayalalitha not to extend her support to this event.
