Vattaram
has raised the expectations of the viewers for
its team combination of Saran, Bharadwaj and Vairamuthu.
Arya is the new entrant to this trilogy. Whether
this combination would click or not, would have
to be waited and watched. |

Arya
on a revenge mission
Napoleon, for the first time in his career has
graduated from a rustic ruffian to a suave and
debonair desperado. He is a multimillionaire who
seems to be having his finger in too many pies.
The business ventures of Napoleon in this film
would make an established industrialist run for
his cover. Such is the diversity of his projects,
which range from building contractor, owner of
a fleet of ships, to name a few. In addition to
these, he is also involved in illegal arms trade
between different countries. Nazar is his driver
who is awed by his boss teaches his son Arya to
derive inspiration from him. |

Impressed by the picture painted by his
father about his boss, Arya visits to have
a glimpse of Napoleon. At the first meeting
itself, he makes a mark in Napoleon’s
heart by saving him from a bullet shot.
Not withstanding the implications of this,
Napoleon’s right hand ‘Kaadal’
Dhandapani hatches a plot, which forces
Nazar to commit suicide.
Meanwhile Arya grows up in the streets and
waits for the right opportunity to avenge
his father’s death. He enters Napoleon’s
household, wins him and his daughter Keerat.
Slowly but steadily he gets to understand
the working of Nep’s empire and finally
accomplishes his long cherished goal by
using Napoleon’s enemy. Film is fast
paced till the interval. The plans laid
by Arya are gripping and unexpected. |

Team
Work
The film would be talked about
its climax for some time. Newcomer Keerat
has not much to do; the lesser said the
better. Arya is improving from film to film.
But he sure needs a few lessons in dialogue
delivery and stunt scenes. Nazar, though
appears for a short period impresses with
his usual performance. Napoleon dominates
the film with his matured performance. |

Music
Music by Bharadwaj is passable. ‘Naana
adhu naana’ may feature in top five
songs for some time.
Overview
Though there are few logical flaws, it is
well masked by the performance of actors.
It is too early to predict the result of
this film as monsoon has kept the audience
at home in the first week. From the initial
reports, Vattaram might prove to be an above
average grosser. |
