DOHCHAY SONGS REVIEW

Album Release Date : Apr 10,2015
Dohchay is an upcoming entertainer starring Naga Chaitanya and Kriti Sanon in lead roles. The film is directed by Sudhir Varma who gave an adventurous blockbuster Swamy Raa Raa earlier. BVSN Prasad, the producer of industry hit Attarintiki Daaredhi is the producer of this film. The new age composer Sunny MR is the music director.
The peculiar album gets jazzy beginnings with a rare blend of symphony, modern jazz, hip hop and sultry vocals by Arijit Singh. The track has a mesmerizing likability factor the moment it begins and makes no mistakes as it progresses by. Philosophical lyrics by Krishna Kanth are a huge asset for this trendy composition.
A laid back duet with superior vocals by Nivas and Shalmali Kholgade establishes the unique flavor of the album perfectly. The overall impact of this track is totally novel and fresh like a new sunrise. The funny sequencing and foot tapping rhythm garnish the composition with no mistakes. The house mix sounds toss up the track with more fashionable aura.
An emotional turn is taken as if travelling on a highway during late night with passionate vocals by Arijit Singh and fantastic electric guitar touches. The interludes are extremely funky with well equipped riffs and confident moments. Perhaps the best aspect of the composition is that- not even once the orchestration dominates the lyrical value of it.
A country styled composition with usage of harmonica and mouth organ giving it an amazing yesteryear feel. Arijit Singh starts off with his baritone vocals which make the track extremely pleasant to hear. The fine bass work, sweet sounding violins and mesmerizing chord progression make it one of the best melodies in recent times!
This funny number begins with apparently sad trumpets leading to a wonderful jazzy world comprising of digitized sequencing and house mix rhythm base. The conversational styled duet is presented extremely well by the composer. Just like other compositions from this album, it sustains the fashionable flavor without compromising on the melodious part.
A fusion track sung by folk master Anthony Dassan and incidentally this is his first full fledged song in Telugu. The retro styled sequencing is blended masterfully with indigenous drums. Surprisingly the orchestration is quite minimal and yet makes the much needed impact on the listener. The lyrics sound predictably follow the Why this Kolaveri format.
An essential fusion number with occasional dosage of alternative rock, modern digital sequencing, modern jazz and indigenous melody supported perfectly with amazing lyrics. This track raises the temperature of the album with rare blend of revenge, valor and funkiness.
The inevitable title track is laced with some life lessons in terms of lyrics and experimentation lessons in terms of music. The Hip-Hop beats and House mix sounds are layered effectively over crescendo drumming section. The interludes are eerily ominous and present the feeling of being stolen brilliantly- thereby staying true to the title of the song!
The brilliant musical journey comes to an end with a country styled number having Cowboy styled presentation having cool guitar section and crystal clear vocals by Partha Sarathy. Impressive lyrics by Krishna Chaitanya are even better and it is indeed difficult to notice which takes the front seat- whether it is lyrics or the music.
