POPULAR ACTRESS RETURNS TO POLITICS

Popular actor turned politician Vijayashanti meets AICC Vice President Rahul Gandhi in New Delhi to extend her support.

Vijayashanti has acted in over 180 films in various Indian languages like Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi. She joined active politics in the year 1997 and stopped acting since 2006.

Vijayashanti joined the Indian National Congress party in February 2014 after a split with TRS chief KCR. However, after losing the 2014 elections and Vijayashanti had announced that she was retreating from politics.

Apparently, she has changed a mind now and would support AICC. Vijayashanti has apparently told Rahul that she would work for the victory of the party in 2019 elections.
