Indira
Vizha, produced by Ashok Godwani
and directed by K. Rajeswar,
has Srikanth and Namitha in
the lead roles. Others in
the star cast include Hemamalini,
the late Raghuvaran and Vivek.
The music for the movie has
been composed by Yadheesh
with Vairamuthu penning the
lyrics for all the songs.

Mogamaa---
Vocals: Hariharan,
Sujatha
A soft, passionate number set to deliberately
slow rhythm and essayed well by Hariharan
and Sujatha. The flute sounds seductive,
the string instruments are low-key, especially
the violin. Quite easy on the ears. Has
a strong shade of Hemavathi raga.
Oru Kinnatthai---
Vocals: Balaji,
Yadheesh, Priyadarshini
An eminently forgettable remix version
of the old Sivaji hit ‘Oru Kinnatthai’
with plenty of drums, wind instruments
and harsh keyboard sounds thrown in. Just
when we think the lady’s voice will
bring in some relief – oh, no! No
such luck! Harsh on the ears.
Kashmir Kondu Vaa---
Vocals: Anoushka,
Yadheesh, Kumayan
An awfully rendered song where you have
to strain to hear the lyrics, which are
nailed further by the loud musical bits
too. A seductive number which could have
been slightly less noisy.
Bumper
Vaccha---
Vocals: Shankar Mahadevan
The song does have a catchy rhythm, but
you have heard it all before. The string
piece that goes ‘sa sa sa sa sa
ga ri sa sa sa sa ni’ in the start
is jaunty, as of course is Shankar Mahadevan.
He alone holds up this song, in spite
of the indelicate lyrics.
Nan Oru Sexy---
Vocals: Sayanora Philip,
Megha, Sriranjani
Sayanora
really lets it rip here, with her powerful
voice—close on the heels of her
‘very different number’, ‘Honey’
from Ayan. Again a song with an ‘I
want to freak out’ feel to it. The
instrumental interludes are equally sexy.
Verdict:
An album that slips out of your ears the
moment you finish listening to it. No
soothing touches anywhere. Only the first
and last songs pass muster.
