Vocals:
Shankar
Mahadevan, Chitra
SEL starts of with a brilliant soothing
romantic song sung by Shankar Mahadevan
and Chitra. Whether it is the usage of
chorus or the change of tracks at the
middle with the help of tabla, reminds
us of Rahman all through but that is a
great compliment to the trio as they are
the only people who come even close to
the Chennai Mozart.
Oh sexy mama---
Vocals: Baba Sehgal,
Anushka Manchanda, Loy
Trendy party song follows with 'Oh sexy
mama' sung by Baba Sehgal, Anushka Manchanda
and Loy. It is in the same lines of Jhonny
Gaddar's 'Move your body', Even the instrumental
usage to an extent mirrors the song and
this also hits the bulls eye but needs
a few extra hearings to come to such a
conclusion. The lyrics do go well with
the music. A hip hop trendy disco song
which is sure to kiss many DJ's hands
for a long time now.
Bade se shehar mein---
Vocals: Karthik.
SEL does it again; they take one of their
songs and try to make it slow and voila!
One more composition. Here SEL takes their
Taare Zameen par song and does some patch
up work. The song still does work like
any other SEL song and the vocals by Karthik
does come handy in touching you at the
right places. The lyrics are quite poetic
but usage of the same words does put one
off. An average song!
Sab
Khariyat Hai---
Vocals: Shankar Mahadevan.
Sung by Shankar Mahadevan Sab khariyat
hai is a happy little song which comes
in for a running time of under 2 minutes.
It is a decent song with some loud music.
If only the music was toned down a little
bit the song would have been much more
impressive. Cannot wait to see where this
song fits in this thriller movie.
13 B - theme---
The
theme song is as eerie as it is supposed
to be and it can be stated as one of the
most impressive theme songs to have come
out in a long long time. The instrumental
usage is so impressive that it disturbs
and makes you want to watch this taut
thriller which is exactly what a theme
song is supposed to do. So two thumbs
up for Indrajit ‘Tubby’ Sharma
and Parikshit Parik who is in-charge of
tuning the theme song alone. The thrilling
music blends so beautifully into a romantic
interlude and then back to eeriness perfectly
denoting the genre of the movie which
is thriller with a tinge of romance.
Verdict:
As per the trend each and every song has
a remixed version with the best being
"Oh sexy mama". After seeing
the trailers there is a possibility that
a song or two might not feature in this
thriller but let us see. It is not a century
by Shankar Ehsaan Loy trio but they come
close to hitting one helped largely by
Indrajit ‘Tubby’ Sharma and
Parikshit Parik with the theme song.
