Sep 13: Akhilesh removes chief secretary Deepak Singhal, considered to be close to Shivpal. Shivpal again threatens to quit the party. Akhilesh quits as party’s state unit chief and Shivpal is appointed as state unit chief after Akhilesh quits. Akhilesh strips Shivpal of his portfolios.
