The humiliation that producers/distributors faced several times regarding VPF issues was due to these agreemets. Whenever a few owners who knew these fraudulent practices protested, DSPs have also bribed them - and shut them up - with bigger shares in VPF or ad revenue, or with free, hitech equipment. Some theatre owners either remain silent due to past grievances with producers/distributors for losses, or not knowing which side to take.
