MUST OWN ALBUMS OF THE NEW MILLENNIUM
Developed by : Behindwoods Music Review BoardThe past decade has seen an evolution of sorts in Tamil film music. The change in the landscape is inevitable and is also part of the progress the music scene is witnessing. Call it Rahman’s influence (though Rahman has been around for more than a decade even back in 2000) or the influence of Western music in our lives, film music has never sounded trendier, keeping in tune with the times. We decided to handpick the best of the best albums released every single year since the beginning of the decade for you. We assure you the process was not as simple as picking apples over oranges. Here’s something for your listening pleasure.
Kandukondain Kandukondain - Alaipayuthey, Hey Ram, Kushi, Rhythm
Rahman reigned the decade’s start with his magnificent music in albums like Kandukondain Kandukondain and Alaipayuthey. While one was filled with melodies of varied range, the other was a gusty rendition of youthful songs. Not to mention, the year was also populated with such gems as Hey Ram, Kushi and Rhythm.
