After much-anticipation, season 5 of the most-popular reality shows of television Bigg Boss Tamil was launched by Kamal Haasan in his signature style. With 'Vikram' theme music running in the background, the 'ulaganayagan' gave a tour of the swanky new house with fully-changed decor. For season 5, the makers have made the house more vibrant and royal. 'Five’ is the running theme in the house and the classic 'jail' that housed contestants was also missing this time in its usual spot. Instead, the swimming pool is changed into a bunker jail.
This season also has audience viewing the show, an important aspect that was scrapped last time because of the raging coronavirus pandemic. Audience were seated in accordance with social distancing norms and the crowd seemed lesser than usual.
Gaana singer Isaivani entered the Bigg Boss Tamil 5 house as the maiden contestant. Isaivani started her singing career at the young age of six and has performed at various musical shows along with her father. Isaivani is the only female member of The Casteless Collective. She had been featured on the British Broadcasting Corporation's (BBC) '100 Women 2020' list alongside women achievers from across the world.
