The king of pathos, Bala, is back with a gut wrenching tale of slavery in tea plantations in colonial India. Played by Atharvaa, Vedhika and Dhanshika, Paradesi is adapted from an English novel called Red Tea.
Following a good opening week, Paradesi’s collections are witnessing a steady flow – National Awards and positive glowing criticism are factors.
National awards have again reiterated Bala’s prowess in movie making and catapulted him into pan Indian presence.

Bala's adaptation of a novel called Red Tea; Paradesi is a story about enslaved tea plantation workers in the colonial era. Atharvaa plays the role of his lifetime with Vedhika and Dhanshika in female lead roles.
Good opening, thanks to the Bala brand and the opening is nicely followed up by glowing reviews. Collections might pick up in the coming week.
The movie is dark but it's also one of Bala’s honest portrayals of a subject, never touched before.
