This story of a dreaded don is an archetypal gangster movie with Ajith at the helm of affairs. With oodles of style and charisma from the film’s leads, the movie passes with flying colors in the style department.

Billa 2 is settling into the average league with collections fast plummeting owing to the release of new movies, albeit small timers.

Talks have diminished about Billa 2 and have progressed on to Ajith’s next film with Vishnuvardhan and his beefed-up look is the talk of the town now.

A prequel to the earlier Billa, Billa 2 is the story of how David becomes an all-conquering Don. It is Ajith all the way with Sudhanshu Pandey and Vidyut Jamwal impressing as the villains. 

After the impressive opening collections Billa 2 is slowly settling into the above average category in terms of collections. 

Talks are slowly dwindling. Also, neither Parvathy nor Bruna seemed to have captured the fancy of the average Tamil audience. 

The gangster thriller, prequel to Billa, follows the birth and times of David Billa and how he came to be one of the deadliest underworld criminals of Tamil cinema. Stylishly shot, Billa also has Parvathy Omanakuttan, Bruna Abdullah and Vidyut Jamwal.

With impressive opening collections, thanks to the advance booking, Billa 2 became the movie with a really enviable opening in recent times. There seems to be a lull in weekday collections with the weekend bringing in satisfactory returns.

Billa 2’s sheen is likely to slowly fade what with many new releases in the pipeline.

After impressive advance collections, business is met with mixed reviews and reactions from the public. However, the movie is still doing business thanks to Ajith fan fraternity.

The common gripe: Parvathy and Bruna have very little screen presence!
