Adade Sundara is a romcom film written and directed by Vivek Athreya, and produced by Mythri Movie Makers. It stars Nani and Nazriya in the lead roles while Anupama Parameshwaran, Rohini, Naresh, Nadhiya and Azhagam Perumal play supporting characters. The film has music by Vivek Sagar and cinematography by Niketh Bommi.

Sundar (Nani) and Leela (Nazriya), both hail from conservative families in their own ways. Sundar hails from a typical Brahmin Hindu family while Nazriya belongs to an Orthodox Christian family. Both of them fall in love with each other, but have the task of convincing their families for marriage. How they manage to do it forms the rest of the film.

The biggest strength of Adade Sundara is how well the characters are written by Vivek Athreya. With the plot being borderline waferthin, and the screenplay being predictable, the film had every single chance to falter at any given point. However, Vivek's sketching of the characters and the dialogues not only save the film, but also take it several notches higher.

Both Nani and Nazriya are extremely likeable in general, and this personality trait pays off big time for Adade Sundara. Actors like Azhagam Perumal and Rohini use their experience to the fullest and come up with solid performances, which make the movie watching experience better. The childhood versions of Nazriya and Nani's characters are also impactful.

Another strength of the film is the humour which works out most of the time. Rahul Ramakrishna plays a cameo and scores well in his scenes. Apart from that, there's a hilarious discussion scene between the parents of Sundar and Leela in the second half which will crack you up for sure. Such moments are sprinkled throughout the film.

Technically, the film has colourful cinematography by Niketh Bommi. The camera work brims on creativity especially when it comes to the angles and framing. Vivek Sagar's music is a proper blend of quirkiness and creating a unique sound. The scenes involving Nani's character are heavy on classical music/instruments while Nazriya's scenes are heavy on the western side.

Overall, Vivek Athreya plays well to his strengths and gives us a wholesome film with Adade Sundara. It also has a message on women's reproductive health, motherhood, and fertility issues which is much needed to the society because of its taboo nature. The performances, dialogues and the humourous sequences stand as a pillar for the film, making it a clean and engaging entertainer.
