“Andhi Mazhai Megam” from Nayagan which depicted a gleeful celebration of Holi in the rain is a wonderful celebratory song about the resilience of human nature and the ability to draw pleasure from the simple things in life.

“Thakita Thadhimi” from Salangai Oli is another legendary rain song which showcased Kamal’s histrionics as well as dancing abilities as he precariously danced on a well.

The scenes following the train crash in Anbe Sivam and the cremation scenes in Nayagan with “Then Pandi Seemayile” in the background were also shot in the rain. That added to the intensity and emotional quotient of these scenes.
