Tamil
cinema has often been accused of recycling the same
old ideas. But using a similar concept is often a
tricky process because comparisons though odious are
inevitable in these cases and often work against the
film. Sometimes though filmmakers draw inspiration
from a theme that has worked in the past, rework it
and come up with something different. Therefore recycling
ideas could be seen as the bane or boon of Tamil cinema.
Be that as it may let us look at some of the films
that made us revert to childhood and cry out –
