Neelambari (Ramya Krishnan) falls in love with Padaiyappa (Rajinikanth) and when he rejects her outright much to her disbelief she goes on to prove that hell hath no fury like a woman scorned not heaven a rage like love to hatred turned. Consumed by her unrequited passion she does everything in her power to destroy Padaiyappa only to finally destroy herself instead. Neelmbari failed in love but there is no denying that it was failure at its most spectacular.
