Ravi played a simple, poverty – stricken villager who fights the odds to win the love of his life, portrayed by Sada in Jayam. The film featured a slew of new faces and not much was expected but Jayam exceeded expectations and went on to become a huge hit. Hence forth the hero would be known and loved as Jayam Ravi.
