KOLLYWOOD’S FILMFARE ROLL OF HONOR FOR ACTORS

Vikram
Vikram
* Special Award for Sethu (1999)
* Best Actor for Kasi (2001)
* Best Actor for Pithamagan (2003)
* Best Actor for Anniyan (2005)
* Best Actor for Raavanan (2010)

If there was a Filmfare Award for dedication to acting, Vikram would be one strong contender for it. One look at the roles that have got him the award suffices as an explanation. Losing 17 Kgs for Sethu, playing blind in Kasi (almost as tough as feigning a squint), dying hair and teeth in ugly almost despicable shades for Pithamagan – he seems to be able to go to any extent for perfecting a role. And, if you think he is a method actor who can only pull off the high-voltage dramas, then you also have to look at the entertainer in him in Anniyan. And, after watching Raavanan one was left wondering about the difference between good and bad, right and wrong – he made the lines blur!
