* Best Actor for Paruthiveeran (2007)

Well, if any actor bowled over an entire industry and the audiences with one film, it is Karthi. There is very little one can say about Paruthiveeran except for the fact that it is hard to believe that the role was performed by a debutante; it was a performance that would have done a National Award winner proud. One thing we can be sure of, even Karthi will find it hard to better this one and if he eventually manages to, it will be one of the best sights that Tamil cinema has seen.
