This is not about the Superstar, but about
the man behind Endhiran, Shankar. In the trailer,
there is a shot where a desperate looking
Vaseegaran wonders whether all his hard work
is going down the drain, he says, ‘Pathu
varsha uzhaippukku palane illiya’ –
(is ten years of hard work coming down to
nothing). It expresses the pain of a scientist
who discovers that his dream invention is
not being what it is intended to be; the agony
of a person who has put a good portion of
his life into a particular thing. Another
key point in the film, one guesses, where
the Robot has been identified as dangerous
to the society and a decision is taken to
terminate it. What has it got to do with Shankar?
Well, he is the man who has toiled for ten
years to realize Endhiran. The journey towards
the realization of the Endhiran-Robot dream
began almost a decade ago. The constant efforts
that started from that point of time and the
unshakeable belief in his vision have made
this seemingly insurmountable task possible.
And we are sure that ten years of patience
and hard work will never go in vain.
