Siddique remade his Malayalam hit Bodyguard as Kaavalan and brought Vijay’s career back to life. He took Bodyguard to Hindi as well and made Salman Khan a top grossing star of the year. Kaavalan had typical Siddique style narrative with a twist in the climax. It’s Asin’s only Tamil film of the year.
