Actress Sona alleged that SPB Charan had misbehaved with her at a social event and filed a police complaint against him for sexual assault. Sona demanded a public apology from Charan. The actress later withdrew the complaint saying for the record that a mutual friend she did not wish to name had been responsible for mediating between the two of them. The entire incident shocked the industry. SPB Charan denied everything and he was backed up by buddy, Venkat Prabhu who was also present at the event.
